Bohannon Trail

The Bohannon Trail is a special opportunity at the Hale Scout Reservation.

This program is designed to allow the scouts to have a good experience in hiking and to see the beautiful national forest surrounding the camp. The trail is a round trip hike of approximately nine miles. We will divide the hikers into two ability levels. The more experienced hikers will leave first and then the new and younger scouts will take a more leisurely hike and leave about 30 minutes after the advanced group.

These are a few requirements for those scouts hiking the trail:

1. Each hiker will furnish his own water container and water.

2. This is a rugged trail. Hikers must wear suitable footwear. Hiking Boots Required

3. Day packs or similar packs are a must for the hike. Each hiker will carry his snack and or lunch, which will be furnished by the camp.

4. Each troop must furnish their own adult leader who is responsible for their troop hikers. In case of a small number of hikers, troops may merge with each other. The staff will act as guides only.

5. The total number of hikers from each troop must be turned in to the Program Director immediately after breakfast on Wednesday morning.

The older more experienced hikers should be back in camp in time for lunch. The younger scouts will return by early afternoon.
